Fo Ti, or the root of the flowering frog (Polygonum multiforum) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

Fo Ti can lower cholesterol levels and reduce arterial calcification. It also supports the immune system and the production of red blood cells in the blood. In alternative medicine, it is used in the treatment of tuberculosis, diarrhea and prostate problems. Fo-Ti helps the body deal with toxins and is therefore a tonic for both the liver and kidneys.

It is also widely used to stimulate fertility and restore sexual function. Rich in zinc and iron, the plant increases the quantity and quality of sperm and eggs. Fo Ti is associated with vitality and longevity.

There are also reports of using Fo Ti for insomnia and premature graying of hair. The latter was confirmed by an experiment with 36 people, 24 of whom completely regained their dark hair and eight partially improved their hair color.
