The bark of the Purshi cascara or the sacred bark (Cascara sagrada).  In the heritage of ancient cultures, it has long been described as a bowel cleanser and detoxifier. 

Paakspuu tannins have an anti-inflammatory effect on mucous membranes and have a bactericidal effect. Acting on the mucous membranes of the intestine, they eliminate pain sensations and form a protective film on them, which prevents the further expansion of the inflammatory foci.
